If you have had BV before and know for certain that it it BV, then i suggest going to the grocery store and buying something called Boric acid, its used to kills roaches, but it non harmful to humans if inserted as a suppository. after purchasing the boric acid purchase empty capsules the size should be “00″ ( you could ask a pharmacist they will be happy to help you)

open the capsules, insert boric acid then recap. insert 1 or 2 of these capsules vaginally for 7 days or 14 if symptoms aren’t improving, do this at night as it gets messy, your body will slowly melt the capsules and release the boric

also when you purchase the boric acid nd capsules you will have plenty more left over to repeat the treatment without fear of abusing antibiotics, which can become ineffective if used too often.
without the risk of burning your inner vaginal lining like garlic can sometimes do, if not peeled properly. Yogurt is more of a preventative method once the smell has become noticeable its already too late.

also if you’re sexually active your sex partner might have something to do with it. try using condoms or even try getting him treated.

They listed yougurt for “bacteria” vaginosis? I could see using it for a yeast infection but not for a bacterial infection. Usually for bacterial vaginosis the doctor will get the results from the lab that says the right type of antibiotics to give depending on the type of bacteria in there. I wouldn’t try to treat bacterial vaginosis on your own. What happened with the doctor? Didn’t he give you antibiotics. You would have had to have a diagnosis from him to determine that it was or is bacteria and not yeast or you could be doing the wrong treatment. Sorry the only treatment I know of is antibiotics and yes you could die from it if you leave it untreated.

A family member of mine was sick and to embarrassed to go to the doctor and she died. The autopsy showed a massive amount of bacteria in all her organs. She had a history of bladder infections and no one knew if she had symptoms of that because she didn’t say. She was very young when she died.

if you had bacterial vaginosis you would have a fishy smell but i dont know you are going to have to go to the doctor but in the mean time try some vagisil untill monday

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a change in the balance of bacteria that are normally present in the vagina, which can cause bothersome symptoms. BV is the most common cause of vaginal symptoms in women of childbearing age.

The most notable symptom of bacterial vaginosis is an excessive, bad-smelling, grayish-white vaginal discharge. A “fishy” smell, which is usually worse after sex, is a telltale sign of BV. However, about half of women with BV have no noticeable symptoms.

BV is diagnosed by a culture examination. If bacteria is present, it will show up during a culture. The only way to treat BV is by using an antibotic. You can only obtain this antibotic by visiting a doctor.

I would suggest going to an urgent care center if there are any in your area. If not, you could always go to the ER. Based on how you’ve described your symptoms, I would wager to guess that it’s not BV.

I would not suggest using any sort of over the counter medication without consulting a doctor, most products will only make your symptoms worse. If you could stand it, place an ice pack on the irritated area for about 10 mins. That may help to reduce the pain.

i have had bacterial vaginosis and no it dosnt sound like what you have i had no discharge or no pain near my bum. The only way i found out i had it was threw a pap test that came back abnormal. You need to go get checked for an std.

It doesn’t sound like an yeast infection. It sounds more like a different kind of infection or a STD.
Common symptoms of an yeast infection are:
- itching (mild to extreme)
- discharge that looks/feels like cottage cheese
- discharge that might have a “yeasty” smell to it
- swollen vagina

No, they cannot test it through urine. Your urinary system and your reproductive system (vagina) are two totally different things. Bacteria in urine would mean a urinary tract infection. So, the doctor woul have to do a pelvic exam, which would in fact require your “privacy” to be invaded. They will take a sample from your vagina and look at it under a microscope. If it is BV, you will either be given a prescription medication taken orally or one inserted vaginally. I know you said you’re not sexually active, but just as a precaution, if you use the vaginal medication, you will want to remain that way. The oral medication can cause a metallic taste in your mouth and you absolutely will not want to drink any type of alcohol while taking this medication. It causes severe side effects. (I know you said you’re in hs, but you never know now days).
Also, just an FYI, BV is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is formed because your vaginal pH gets off balance and the good bacteria in your vaginal area get overrun with bad ones (to put in easy terms). Eating yogurt regularly (no sugar added), avoiding sugars, avoiding perfumed soaps and lotions in that area, and wearing plain white cotton panties (or none at all) is helpful. Sometimes thong panties, or panties of the type, are not good for your “private” area because the string part that is around your anal area can come in contact with your vaginal area, which is a major cause of BV.
You will have to see your doctor, if you feel this is BV. I would suggest you see him/her regardless because any foul odor in the vaginal area is a sign of something being wrong. Only a prescription can fix BV. If it’s a yeast infection, you can take OTC meds, but you would be experiencing other symptoms as well.
Don’t worry about your privacy being invaded. I know it’s hard at first, but trust me, they see tons of them everyday. It’s just like looking at an arm or leg for them. It’s just a body part that needs to be medically treated. Just be as honest with them as you can be, give as many facts as you can, and find a good doctor you can trust. If she is using the Monistat, maybe that’s what’s on your d!ck, dude. You know? I would assume the symptoms for a guy would be the same as a woman: itchiness, redness, tenderness…

Go to the Dr. Just because you didn’t have a yeast infection 6 months ago doesn’t mean you don’t have one now. By the way, you DO know what a yeast infection is, right? It’s NOT an STD or anything.

This is totally normal. I get them all the time. You need to make sure that you pee after you have sex (it cleans out any bacteria your boyfriend might have pushed in during sex.) and also if you want, playtex makes these clean wipes which work quite well. I wouldnt worry about it, yeast infections can occur for hundreds of reasons (taking antibiotics, too hot, clothing too tight, if you go to the beach, or the pool).
